NEDA MAKI STUDIO
Welcome to Neda Maki's studio.
One of the principles that define Neda Maki's art is her deep commitment to creating an open dialogue between realism and fantasy in all aspects of her artwork. Her playful and imaginative take on colour and bold textures are what bring her life-size portraits to life.
Neda is currently working on her doctoral (PhD) degree in medical anthropology with a collaborative specialization in Indigenous health at the University of Toronto. She is also a part-time professor at Algoma University and Yorkville University in Toronto.
When not teaching or working in her studio, Neda is doing art therapy with children on the autism spectrum at Room to Bloom Therapy Centre in Bolton.
While an academic at heart, painting is her first love.
Neda welcomes all custom painting requests.
"In your light, I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest, where no one sees you. But sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art."
